TRIPACEL
Description
Tripacel consists of Diphtheria and Tetanus Toxoids and Acellular Pertussis Vaccine Adsorbed. It is indicated for the primary immunization of infants from the age of 2 months and in children up to 6 years of age (prior to their 7th birthday) against diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis (whooping cough).
Immunization Guideline
TRIPACEL may be administered as a 4-dose series starting as early as 2 months of age with 3 doses at an interval of 2 months between each dose, followed by a booster dose approximately 6 to 12 months after the third dose.
Administer the vaccine intramuscularly into the deltoid muscle or into the anterolateral aspect of the mid-thigh (vastus lateralis muscle). In children >1 year of age the deltoid is the preferred site since use of the anterolateral thigh results in frequent complaints of limping due to muscle pain.
For latest IAP updates see revised immunization schedule.
