Hi, my 2 year old daughter has been administered biovac A booster shot 1 year after the 1st shot. Now while surfing the internet I came to know that it’s a live vaccine and only 1 shot is required. A mistake has been done here. Just wanted to know if this will cause any side effects. I’m really worried.
Yes, Biovac A is a live vaccine and only one dose is sufficient to develop the required immune response for life. Live attenuated vaccines initiates the activation of all phases of immune system; humoral response and cell-mediated response and provide life long immunity. But, don’t worry if your child has been given an extra dose. It will not harm as one year gap is followed. It may not just provide the added immunity which a booster gives. Your money and time is definitely wasted.
