My son was was given Hep-B at the time of birth.
At 6 weeks, he was given Hexaxim. At 10 weeks, he was again given Hexaxim by the doctor.
The vaccination chart given by the Hospital says – Hep-B should be given at birth, at 6 weeks, and then at 6 months.
As Hexaxim also contains Hep-B, my son has been effectively given and extra/unrecommended dose of Hep-B at 10 weeks.
Would this extra dose cause any issue ?
Hep B dose at birth can be followed by doses at 6, 10 and 14 weeks also when given a combination vaccine. There is no issue related to giving extra doses of Hep B. Rather, it is a common practice to do so. If Hep B is given alone, then it can be given according to the hospital schedule. See http://vaccinebox.com/vaccines/hepatitis-b-vaccine/
